Scottish taxi dealer celebrates sales success

A leading taxi dealer with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow is celebrating after increasing its sales of LTI’s TX4 model by 36 per cent.

John Paton & Sons Limited has dealerships on Dunedin Street in Edinburgh and Lister Street in Glasgow. The taxi specialist has seen the sales grow across the board by almost a third compared to 2006.

The dealership, which employs 70 people, is one of the UK’s largest taxi and private hire suppliers. Established in 1957, Patons sells both new and previously owned taxis and provides a full aftersales service from its workshops and bodyshops. The company is also an LTI genuine parts stockist.

Patons’ Glasgow office has seen the biggest increase in sales, with a 75 per cent increase in 2007 compared to 2006. Edinburgh’s sales are also on the increase with a 13 per cent increase this year.

The new TX4 product certainly seems to be meeting the needs of taxi drivers and we’re now working hard to ensure we continue this success.”
