Save more than money with HSBC’s 2008 sale
HSBC’s 2008 January Sale is offering great deals and discounts on a range of personal finance products, as well as giving customers a chance to help save one of the most important and endangered parts of the planet. The 2008 Sale, HSBC’s fourth since it pioneered the bank sale concept in 2005, includes some great offers.
Prospective homebuyers can pick up a bargain 4.99 per cent two-year discount mortgage. New credit card customers can enjoy 0 per cent APR on purchases for 12 months and 2.9 per cent on balance transfers till January 2010 and there are half-price offers on current accounts and special offers on share dealing and insurance.
And for 2008, HSBC has linked with WWF to protect more than 750,000 acres of rainforest in some of the most threatened parts of South America. For every sale product sold, HSBC will donate £2 to WWF to support the HSBC Rainforest Preservation Project in Brazil.
John Shaw, coordinator of the HSBC Sale said: “HSBC’s 2008 Sale has something for almost everyone shopping for financial savings in the New Year.
“The two-year discount fixed rate mortgage is a terrific deal, as are the discounts and special offers on credit cards and personal loans. We are also offering substantial savings for customers opening or converting to an HSBC Green Plus current account. We launched the green current account range last year as part of our work to reduce our paper usage. Green current account customers do not receive paper statements, cheque books or any printed marketing materials relating to their current account. The concept has been enormously well received by our customers and we are very pleased to be able to offer Green Plus as a part of the 2008 Sale.”
Mr Shaw said the HSBC Rainforest Preservation Project built on the success of HSBC’s 2007 Green Sale, which raised over £750,000 for a range of environmental charities.
“HSBC has a long-standing commitment to the environment and we continue to explore new ways of raising awareness of environmental issues among our staff and customers.
“We don’t expect customers to choose an HSBC Sale product because it will contribute to the rainforest project - they will do so if a product meets their needs, is competitively priced and because they want to bank with HSBC. But it does give them a chance to make a contribution to a very worthwhile project, as well as raising awareness of one of the world’s most important and threatened rainforest areas.”
The 2008 Sale goes live on-line from 24 December and in branches from 27 December.
