Local garage has backing of Bosch The development of Talgarth family-run independent garage Orion Motors has been given a big boost by its appointment as a Bosch Car Service Centre.

The garage on Hay Road is now part of a network of over 400 garages across the UK whose standards of skill, training, equipment and customer service qualify it for backing by the world’s largest supplier of automotive technology.

Bosch components can be found on all makes of vehicle on Britain’s roads today. From electronic engine management to car safety systems, Bosch equipment and components help improve fuel efficiency, performance and safety. Through the Bosch Car Service the company’s core principles of offering the highest quality and technological leadership have been extended into the workshops of member firms.

Orion Motors on Hay Road was opened 24 years ago by Bryan and Carol Price and quickly established a reputation for its engine diagnostics and tuning expertise. With the increasing level of technology within cars these skills have become even more in demand.

Last year Bryan made a decision to seek membership of the Bosch Car Service network and, following a rigorous assessment of his business, was accepted. Membership gives Bryan and his three highly-skilled technicians access to the most advanced diagnostics and testing equipment in the motor industry, along with specialist training.

The firm offers customers a full range of servicing, repair and maintenance for all makes of car and van. This includes electrical and electronics work, engine diagnostics and tuning, and the servicing and re-gassing of air-conditioning systems. MOT testing is also carried out and tyres, batteries and exhaust systems can be supplied and fitted.

Bryan says that becoming a Bosch Car Service Centre has considerably raised the status of what is already a well-established and highly-regarded independent garage.

“We provide servicing and maintenance support to motorists from across a wide area from Brecon to Hereford and Abergavenny,” he says. “Becoming a member of the Bosch Car Service network gives our customers added confidence that they can bring their cars and vans to us knowing that we will carry out the work correctly, efficiently and at costs that are considerably more competitive than the franchised dealers.

“Recently introduced EU rules now make it easier for drivers to choose where they have their van or car serviced. This allows us to carry out work on any make of vehicle without compromising the manufacturer’s warranty terms and to do so at a more affordable price.”

The Bosch Car Service network is also the first independent garage group to achieve approval for its Consumer Code of Practice from the Office of Fair Trading. Displaying the BCS/OFT logo makes a statement that customers can expect the highest standard of service and that a clearly defined system is in place for the open, fast and fair resolution of any complaints.

Orion Motors well-equipped workshop has seven servicing bays and two dedicated bays, one for diagnostics work and the other for MOT tests. They use highly sophisticated equipment including the Bosch KTS diagnostics system, which is acknowledged within the motor trade as the best in its class. The company also provides a 24 hour recovery service, seven days a week.
