Lex announces major new fleet contract
Lex has announced a major new fleet contract, plus the appointment of its roadside assistance and windscreen replacement supplier until 2013.Aviva has outsourced the running of its 1,600 strong car fleet over the next three years to Lex on three year/60,000 mile contracts.
Lex will manage all contact with drivers on Aviva’s behalf, and servicing and new car orders can all be booked online. Aviva’s fleet department will also be able to access real time reporting to enable them to keep an eye on all aspects of the outsourced fleet.
At the same time Lex has signed a contract with Aviva subsidiary RAC worth £75m for it to provide breakdown, recovery and windscreen replacement services across its fleet of 258,000 vehicles.
The contract goes through to 2013 and in that time RAC anticipates handling around 600,000 calls from Lex drivers and attending around 360,000 breakdowns.
RAC AutoWindscreens will handle around 80,000 calls and fit around 60,000 windscreens to Lex vehicles over the six year contract period.
