CAP launches Trend Analyser v2

25th January 2008 Print
CAP has launched Trend Analyser v2, an enhanced version of its innovative Trend Analyser residual values analysis tool designed for contract hire operators, finance companies and car, truck and van manufacturers.

Powered by CAP’s market-leading Black and Red Book current values and Monitor future residual values, Trend Analyser is already the most data-rich and configurable tool available for analysing used values, future residual values and new pricing trends.

With the launch of version 2, Trend Analyser users will benefit from major enhancements in vehicle value tracking and trending and a range of new features.

Trend Analyser was originally introduced in 2005, rapidly finding favour among customers requiring a tool to extract powerful market intelligence from the wealth of CAP historic and forecast pricing data.

As well as processing vast quantities of data, quickly and easily, the system delivers graphical representations of market movements in a few seconds that would previously have taken analysts hours or days to produce.

For example, Trend Analyser enables rapid analysis of the impact on residual values of new model introductions, vehicle facelifts or price increases within a user-defined basket of vehicles. Residual value performance can be tracked against the market and the impact of specific factors can be analysed, such as altering the diesel/petrol model mix within a range or a fleet.

In common with version 1, Trend Analyser v2 enables users wishing to identify other factors potentially influencing prices to feed in any additional numeric data they choose - such as economic statistics - in order to bring unprecedented clarity to residual values performance.

Among the enhancements found in Trend Analyser v2 are;

Single vehicle analysis for rapid viewing of a vehicle’s performance in the market.

Analysis of values achieved against CAP, enabling users to plot forecast against outturn.

Rapid access to analysis charts.

New analysis charts such as ‘Age v accumulated mileage’ and ‘Percentage of cost new’.

Easier manipulation and building of vehicle baskets.

Vehicles can be imported using either CAP ID or CAP Code.

John Watts, Operational Development Manager, said: “We have listened carefully to our customers and built further on their requirements for breadth and ease of functionality. Trend Analyser is already a ‘best of breed’ analysis tool and version 2 builds on that with a host of new features and improvements to the core product.”
