100 up for VWFS & BCA

The event attracted 101 registered buyers to BCA Nottingham, with a further 124 logging on via BCA’s Live Online service. A total of 300 cars were sold for a turnover that exceeded £3 million and the average selling price of £10,040 was equivalent to 98% of CAP Clean. Top price of the day went to a 2007-registered Bentley Continental GT Coupe that sold for £96,000.
It was the biggest sale staged for VWFS since the company first started selling with BCA some 8 years ago. In that time, VWFS and BCA have combined to sell over 30,000 vehicles for more than £255 million.
BCA conducted a high profile promotional campaign for the sale using both e-marketing techniques and traditional direct-mail catalogues to create awareness. The sale was heavily trailed on BCA’s award winning website to promote the event, with every vehicle digitally imaged and comprehensively described in advance of the sale. On average, each vehicle in the online catalogue was viewed over 100 times, with certain vehicles viewed up to 900 times prior to sale.
Colin Barlow - Head of Operations Services for VWFS was presented with a Crystal Gavel by BCA to mark the 100th Sale. He commented “BCA have been a most effective and innovative remarketing partner for VWFS and always deliver an excellent level of service. This sale marked the first time we had used the Live Online selling technology and the results were outstanding. Buyer numbers increased significantly and online bidders added several thousand pounds to the bottom line.”
BCA's Network Operations Director Simon Henstock commented "We worked closely with VWFS to prepare this high profile centenary sale at Nottingham. To sell 300 cars in a single sale is a remarkable achievement and a reflection of the high quality stock that VWFS brings to the market.”
