The AA donates its gift vouchers to BEN

An impressive £13,995 worth of high street gift vouchers have been donated to BEN, the Automotive Industry Charity. The vouchers have been accumulated by AA patrols purchasing fuel in Total filling stations nationwide over twelve months. Each time a patrol fills up his van, points are accumulated. At the end of the year, these points are turned into gift vouchers and Road Operations Director, Steve Dewey, wanted to donate them to industry charity, BEN.

Charles Davis, Director of Fundraising & Communications, says, “We are absolutely delighted that the AA has chosen to donate these vouchers to us for the second year running. They will go towards helping those less fortunate to purchase white goods such as washing machines, cookers, fridges, etc. Last year we helped in the region of 100 families to purchase such essential items which many of us take for granted. However, there are many families out there who do not have the additional funds to go out and buy these when they break down.”

The AA’s Jan Labroy responded by saying, “This scheme is a great way of being able to give something back to the industry. The points have been accumulated by patrols over a two year period and we are pleased that it has been possible for us to support BEN and also give something back.” Charles Davis concluded, “We are very hopeful that other companies within our industry will come forward to promote this initiative. If you would like to find out more about this scheme then please contact Lorna Russell at BEN.”
