Motability keeps motoring at BCA
Classics from BCA – the new force in collectors’ vehicle sales - has donated £1,415 to the national disability charity, Motability. BCA makes a donation to the charity for every catalogue that is sold throughout the annual classic auction programme.Robin Lawton, Head of Classics from BCA, was on hand to present a cheque to Motability's Corporate Accounts Manager, Lucy Tyler, at the first classic sale of the year held at Blackbushe on 26 February 2008.
Robin Lawton commented: "We are delighted to continue our support for Motability through this initiative which to date has generated many thousands of pounds for this most worthy organisation. Every year, BCA’s classic car sales have generated a substantial donation for Motability and we look forward to continuing this under our new name of Classics from BCA.”
He continued: “It is all too easy to take our cars for granted and the freedom they give us to travel when and where we like. Motability gives this opportunity of mobility to disabled people and makes it affordable. This is not just about the costs of adapting cars – many modern vehicles already meet the needs of Motability customers and their carers – but about giving the access and equality to disabled people.”
Receiving the cheque, Lucy Tyler added: "I would like to thank BCA and particularly Classics from BCA for their continued support over the years. This substantial donation will enable many disabled people and their families to become mobile. The Motability Scheme enables disabled people to pursue their hobbies, education and employment, giving them increased freedom, independence, and improved quality of life."
