Major award and 32 orders for Romahome at NEC

On the first day of the show, Romahome managing director Brian Bailey announced that 17 orders had been placed for the new Romahome R40, the biggest model the company has ever made.
By the end of the show last Sunday, that total had climbed to 22 and orders had been received by Romahome, part of the Southampton-based Freeborn Group, for four of its R30 and six R20 models.
As a result of a reader poll carried out by Practical Motorhome magazine, the company was also given the Gold Sovereign award after it was judged best motorhome manufacturer.
“Romahome products have always been popular with owners, and this is obvious from the number of internet blogs praising the new R40,” reported Mr. Bailey.
“It’s always great to get tangible recognition in the form of an award, though. It gives something to display here to remind the whole team just how well they are performing in a very tough market.
“There’s no shortage of competition for Romahome but the fact that buyers love us shows that our competitors frequently have a tougher time competing against us than we do against them.
“But this doesn’t make us complacent. We will continue to develop new products in response to consumer demand, just as we did with Romahome R40.
“Buyers told us they wanted something bigger than the usual Romahome, a vehicle capable of sleeping four people and seating six. They wanted a big kitchen and bathroom, too, but all within a compact body.
“It might sound like an impossible dream, but the creation of the R40 proves it was not. And customer reaction clearly demonstrates that we have a winning new product on our hands.”
