M&S Money adds extra benefits to pet insurance
M&S Money is making changes to its pet insurance to provide customers with more choice and a wider range of services.Premier cover replaces the existing policy and is available to new customers now, and to existing customers at renewal. M&S Money is also offering a Standard policy as an option for pet-owners who need a more basic policy but still with the protection of lifetime cover.
M&S was the first high street retailer to offer lifetime cover for cats and dogs. Pets are covered for life, which means that even if a pet does become ill, they will continue to be insured for the rest of their natural life as long as the policy is renewed.
Both Premier and Standard cover include the following extra benefits:
VetfoneTM - unlimited access to a free advice phone line, staffed by qualified veterinary nurses 24 hours a day. The line will provide customers with immediate advice about their pet's condition if they have any concerns.
Best Pet Pharmacy - 5% discount on prescription and non-prescription medicines and specialist pet food, which are already discounted by up to 50% compared to vets' prices. Best Pet Pharmacy also provides next day delivery direct to the customer's door.
Premier cover also includes:
Cover for vets' fees up to £7,000 a year for illness and injury
No time limit on the duration of treatment provided the policy is
renewed
Multiple pet insurance discount of 5% on cover for second and
subsequent pets
No upper age limit
Standard cover provides up to £4,000 annual cover for vets' fees, with a condition limit of £1,000 which renews at the start of each year.
Judith Roberts, M&S Insurance Manager, commented, "M&S pet insurance has always provided customers with the reassurance of lifetime cover for their pets. We are now offering more options and greater choice to help our customers manage their own pets' health."
