BUPA Individual Protection ensures streamlined application process

15th October 2008 Print
Bupa Individual Protection has announced the launch of a new tele-interviewing service, following the success of a recent pilot scheme. This latest development is part of Bupa's on-going commitment to meeting the needs of its customers.

Market analysis has shown that tele-interviewing can:

Reduce the time it takes to process applications
Reduce the need to request further information from customers and their GPs
Improve the quality of the information disclosed.

Chris Pollard, chief underwriter at Bupa, commented: "Tele-interviewing benefits both the consumer and the intermediary and although we will continue to rely on the medical profession, tele-interviewing should reduce the volume of medical reports required to offer terms. We are also pleased to be offering this service as a joint venture with Morgan Ash and the Bupa HealthLine operation. This should ensure that our customers receive a quality service experience."

Meanwhile, Bupa Individual Protection has introduced a number of additional enhancements to its online system to further improve the processing and tracking of applications. Case histories can be downloaded at any time and a revised search function and navigation facilities has also improved the management of applications.

Brian Bartley, head of operational development, Bupa Individual Protection said: "We are committed to offering a valuable online service to our intermediaries and have made some system developments following feedback from intermediaries. These developments will save the intermediary time and effort and increase their ability to track the progress of applications submitted."
