Lewis Hamilton victory written in the stars

Lewis Hamilton’s ‘breeze’ to victory in the opening Formula One race of the season in Australia at the weekend may have been written in the stars.

The Spring equinox, 21 March, sees the beginning of the new zodiacal year and new research from Gocompare.com shows that the way we drive may have more to do with star signs than road signs.

The study of 4.9 million drivers from Gocompare.com reveals that Capricorns, including Lewis Hamilton, make the most conscientious and focused drivers. The research has also found that Pisceans, Taureans and Leos have the worst driving habits of the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Gocompare.com’s survey revealed that:

Capricorns are the most conscientious motorists holding the least convictions for speeding offences, driving a defective vehicle or driving without due care and attention.

Pisceans are the raciest drivers and hold the most speeding convictions.

Taurean drivers hold the most convictions for failure to comply with road signs. Scorpios have the least convictions in this area.

Leos are the most careless about their cars and driving, holding the most convictions for defects to their vehicle and driving without due care and attention.

Astrologer, Annabel Burton, explained, “Each sign of the zodiac has typical personality traits which may influence the way in which we drive. People born under Capricorn, which include racing driver Lewis Hamilton among their rank, are focused on reaching the top - or the end of their journey. They are concerned about results and therefore are less likely to be sidetracked or distracted - making them the safest drivers of the zodiac.

“Piscean’s dreamy nature may go someway to explaining their lack of adherence to speed limits, while Taurean drivers like David Beckham are usually the gentle users of the road. For them, comfort and a touch of luxury come before speed unless their bullish nature gets them hot under the collar in a 20 mile tail-back on the M6!”

Annabel continued, “There are two kinds of Leos – the cowardly lions who don’t like driving, preferring to take the Tube or the magnificent, proud lions who love flashy cars. The latter maybe more bothered with bling than what’s going on under the bonnet.”
