HiFX launches online travel money service

16th June 2008 Print
Currency specialists HiFX has announced the launch of its Travel Money Online service, offering competitive rates, zero commission and free next day delivery on foreign currency and travellers cheques up to £2,000. The secure service adds to the currency expertise, large volume exchange and money transfer services already offered by the company.

Mark Bodega, director at HiFX explains, "With sterling currently weak against the euro and people trying to save money wherever possible, it's never been more important to shop around for travel money before setting off on holiday. If you wait until you're in the airport to buy currency then you won't know if you are being offered a good rate or a bad rate because you'll have nothing to compare it with. Generally airport providers' rates are a lot less competitive than those available elsewhere and once you're in that last chance saloon, you will be left with little choice but to accept what's on offer."

When changing money it is important to consider both the exchange rate and the amount of commission charged in order to get the most for your cash. Bodega adds, "Watch out for commission fees - many providers say they are charging zero per cent commission on fees, but they'll give you a worse, much lower exchange rate for your money. In this way, not paying commission can be a false economy."

Holiday makers can order cash or travellers cheques from over 70 currencies online at hifx.co.uk/travelmoney. Free home delivery is offered on orders over £500 and next day delivery is guaranteed on orders placed before 3pm. The service allows customers to choose their preferred note denominations and also specify the value of the order in either sterling or the foreign currency. Most major credit and debit cards are accepted and the site is fully encrypted and compliant with all money exchange regulations.

Customers also have a dedicated customer helpline on 0845 602 6411 (Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm, Sat 9.00am-1pm)
