See your car at the British International Motor Show

20th March 2008 Print
The British International Motor Show is offering a once in a lifetime chance for your car to be exhibited at this year’s show alongside some of the greatest names in motoring.

To get on to the ‘Wall of Fame’ and to be in with a chance of seeing your car at the show, send a photograph of you and your car to mycaristhestar@britishmotorshow.co.uk and submit 150 words on what your car means to you and why it should be displayed at the show. No matter what make, age and condition we all have a story to tell about our car.

When submitting your entry, consider why you love your car. Think about what experiences and adventures you’ve shared. Why it turns you on (or others for that matter!) Why you chose it. What makes it special? Have you made any special modifications? How has your car enhanced your life? Do you have a name for your car? Have you owned your car all of your life? Did you buy it from someone famous? Is it unique?

Whether you’ve had a life-changing moment in your car such as delivering a baby on the back seat or just appreciate your car for the little things such as keeping you warm on winter’s day, we want to hear from everyone, no matter what the story is.

Organisers will also pick one lucky person to win the ultimate prize of taking their car to the show for real and placing it on their own, dedicated spot.

Marketing Director Kirsty Perkinson said, “We’re celebrating the bond we all have with our cars and we want to hear from you. We want to hear why you love your car and why we should feature your car and its story at the Show. Whether your car is your life-line

to the world, your daily run around, your chariot, your taxi for the family, your mobile office or a stylish mean machine, we want to hear your story and get your photograph up on the wall of fame.”

As the biggest show in the UK, the two week extravaganza expects to attract over half a million people – making this the perfect opportunity to express just how proud you are of your car and what it does for you.

As well as the potential to see your car on display, visitors to this year’s show can look forward to brand new, exciting features, including:

The Heritage Enclosure and Parade – A glorious display of sleek and sexy sports and supercars from the past five decades.

The Autoglym Supercar Paddock – A high-octane collection of exotic marques, the Autoglym Supercar Paddock is your chance to get up close and personal with some of the fastest, sexiest, most expensive and highly revered performance cars on the planet.

Drift School - An exciting opportunity to be driven sideways around a demanding circuit by professional drivers.

Honda Theatre of Dreams – Wheel-spinning spectacle of a live-action stunt show. Breath-taking stunts will wow crowds with performances throughout the day.

The Marine Experience – Enjoy the glamour of the Elite Fleet display of multimillion pound yachts and take to the helm of a range of craft in the Try A Boat Feature.

Kidz Car Zone – A fun-packed area for the young drivers of tomorrow. Children of 2 to 14 years of age will be kept amused with ‘car-themed’ entertainment whilst learning important lessons about cars and road safety.

The Motor Show Music Festival – A collection of world-famous live acts will perform late night concerts in the purpose-built dockside arena each night of the Show. Line up includes UB40, Status Quo, Squeeze, Here and Now 80s Tour and Jools Holland featuring Marc Almond.

The photographs will also be displayed in a “My Car is The Star” section of The British International Motor Show: britishmotorshow.co.uk.
