Caxton FX abolishes all ATM Fees from July 10

1st July 2009 Print
Caxton FX has announced that it is abolishing ATM fees on all its prepaid currency cards from the end of next week.

The Caxton FX Euro and Dollar cards now join the Caxton FX Global Traveller card in coming free of all transaction fees and withdrawal fees, making the Caxton cards the best value on the market.

"We have taken this step in response to our customer feedback, which shows ATM fees are particularly unpopular," says James Hickman, managing director of Caxton FX. "We are constantly trying to improve our products and ensure that we offer the very best value in the market. The removal of all ATM fees will certainly help our customers at a time when family budgets are stretched."

Caxton FX previously charged a fee of $2 or €2 when customers made a withdrawal from an ATM overseas although it has never levied transaction fees when the cards are used for purchases. The decision to discontinue the ATM fees brings the terms for the cards into line with their popular Global Traveller card launched earlier this year.

Prepaid cards are becoming increasingly popular as travellers are tired of high overseas bank charges when they use they bank debit or credit cards. They also offer a safe and secure way of taking travel money abroad. Caxton's Euro and Dollar cards allow customers fix their exchange rate prior to travelling and so take advantage when exchange rates are good. The Global Traveller card is preloaded with sterling so it can be used to save money all over the world

Most cards on the market charge ATM fees including the Nationwide, which has recently changed its policy to charging when outside the EU.
