Melt London presents a new autumn winter 2008 collection set to take the fashion pack by storm. Offering a designer look and quality finish, Melt caters for the fashion-savvy, confident woman who enjoys expressing her individuality with a statement. The autumn winter 2008 collection by Melt is entitled ‘Percival Loves Doris’; with each garment heralding a quintessentially English name, such as the ‘Clarence Black Trouser’, ‘Wallace Black Dress’ and ‘Herbert Floor Length Coat’.

The collection has a quirky British style, offering a fusion of struc tured lines offset with softer pieces that are based on the historic military dress uniforms of Officers on parade. Although not a literal translation – the regal authority and air of confidence is perfectly captured, Creative Director, Susan Royston states, ‘Melts clothing is vastly removed from the High Street in its construction, offering up-to the-minute, quality key pieces for the confident woman’.

The Herbert Coat in military green, rrp £650.00 is Melt’s jewel in the royal crown – dramatic, floor length and flowing. It has the edgy detail of unzipping at the waist, detaching the full skirt to reveal a cropped biker inspired jacket – giving the modern woman two choices for her versatile wardrobe. The ruffle finishing of the collar softens the structure of the coat. Available in military green and black. The collection comprises mix and match separates giving the customer a versatile wardrobe. Pieces include tailored trousers, funky designer tees, sharp yet edgy waistcoats, classic dresses, pencil skirts with a twist, silk camisoles and the heroes of the brand – jackets and floor-length coats.

The powerful, shapes and lines of the waistcoats and jackets are softened with feminine silk, corsetry influenced, camisoles and flirty, funky tees. There are ruffled collars, silk and leather trimmed seams, and an edgy, vintage-inspired striped lining in bold green. Materials used are cotton twill, wool, silk, and modal.

Melt’s collection is focused on the detailing, the jackets and waistcoats are finished with either black enamelled buttons sporting silver crowns or antique nickel buttons engraved with heraldic shields – imagery to further reflect the status, power and regal tones of the English Generals who inspired the collection, creating a reflection of their power on the woman who wears Melt.
