Could You Be Britain’s Next Kate Moss?

Europe’s premiere model agency, Models 1, have turned to the Internet to find the new face of 2007. The lucky winners will win contracts with the agency, home to supermodels Yasmin Le Bon and Twiggy.

Models 1 have teamed up with Islandoo, the UK’s fastest growing social networking website, to find their next generation of modelling superstars.

Islandoo launched in September 2006 as a casting site for Channel 4’s reality show, Shipwrecked. Since casting this year’s stars the site has attracted a database of 25,000 extroverted 18 to 24 year olds desperate for their 15 minutes of fame.

Julian Michon, Director of New Faces at Models 1, said:

“Models 1 is dedicated to discovering new talent. Great models like Will Chalker, Andrew Cooper, Yasmin Le Bon, Noemie Lenoir, and Twiggy all started with us.

“Scouting for new models used to involve hanging around shopping centres and airports. Now the best talent is online.

“The modelling industry is moving very fast, competition is very high. When we came across Islandoo, we were blown away! The site allows us to see a lot of people quickly. It means we are more likely to find the next superstar.”

This month Models 1 will be selecting stars from Islandoo to attend a series of open castings. Castings will take place across the UK*, and will result in lucky winners securing a modelling contracts.
