Success for AP Racing and Carlin Motorsport

28th March 2008 Print
AP Racing, the leading manufacturer of performance braking and clutch systems for race and road use, is pleased to announce the recent victory for the revolutionary Radi-CAL brake systems and the Carlin Motorsport F3 team. AP Racing has a worldwide reputation for the supply of high-quality, high performance components to the motorsport and automotive industries. AP Racing announced the development of the Radi-CAL brake caliper in November, since then it has already achieved successes in US Stock Car’s premier Sprint Cup category. Radi-CAL has attracted worldwide interest from engineers in many disciplines and AP Racing will shortly be announcing new products incorporating the concept for several new applications.

AP Racing is supplying complete braking systems – comprised of the latest Radi-CAL calipers, discs (CP3947), mounting bells, master cylinders, mounting hardware and pads – to Carlin’s four F3 UK International Class cars. In addition, AP Racing is also supplying brake systems to the two Carlin-run F3 UK National cars as well as on-track support at the UK series events.

The first competitive F3 outing for the AP Racing Radi-CAL brake system was at Oulton Park over the Easter weekend (20-22 March 2008). Carlin Motorsport has begun the season with tremendous success, with victories in the International class for both Oliver Turvey and Jaime Alquersuari and a double win for Andy Meyrick in the National Class.

“After a full pre-season of testing it was great to finally get a chance to see how the Radi-CAL brake calipers would work in a race situation” said Trevor Carlin, Team Principal. “The car ran tremendously over the weekend, it looks like it will be a great season, thanks in part to the enhanced braking performance of the Radi-CAL brake calipers.”

Norman Barker, Director of Sales at AP Racing added, “We have been working closely with Carlin Motorsport on the development of the groundbreaking Radi-CAL caliper system. We are looking forward to building on the recent success and for the opportunities we will have to continue to support the team with products and on-track assistance.”
