Vans to open first UK partnership store

15th May 2008 Print
Vans have teamed up with legendary independent streetwear retailer, Natterjacks, to open the first partnership store in the UK. The unit is located on Fife Street, within the hub of the shopping district in Kingston Upon Thames and will open its doors on the 24th May 2008.

The site will house the custom Vans ‘shop in shop’ design representing the Vans identity using black and white checkerboard light box shoe walls as well as specially designed freestanding units already used with various retailers as concept corners. The store will hold the diverse range of Vans classic footwear and apparel for men, women and kids and will be a destination store for any Vans fan.

Ownership and operation of the store will still be retained by Andy Beagley, director of the three Natterjacks stores situated within the town, who has extensive retail experience and is a very well respected independent retailer.

On the collaboration he says “I am looking forward to learning how a one brand store works and I hope to be able to learn a lot from the range planning that ties in with the marketing campaigns. I truly feel that with the product available across all the lines that Vans has on offer, the store will be a real success”.

The Kingston unit is part of Vans’ continuing expansion of its single brand retail locations throughout Europe. Alongside a hugely successful Berlin store that opened last year, Amsterdam, Barcelona and London Carnaby still remain extremely successful flagship stores.

Vans, the original skate shoe and apparel brand since 1966, supports youth culture through action sports, art, music and street style over the world.
