Fashion says ‘Balls to Bullfighting’ Don’t Panic and The League Against Cruel Sports have joined forces to launch the ‘Balls to Bullfighting’ creative campaign to find the next big thing in the graphic design world. Do you reckon you have what it takes? The brief is to create awareness by giving talented graphic designers a chance to come up with a T-shirt design that promotes the ‘Balls to Bullfighting’ message.

The winner will see their design worn worldwide, sold in various independent fashion boutiques around London and also on the League’s website.

All profits will go towards putting an end to bullfighting. Last year for the first time groups across the world joined forces to end bullfighting.

Florian Leppla, bullfighting campaigner at the League said: “We are very excited that Don’t Panic are working with us to help find a designer who has what it takes to get the anti-bullfighting message out there!”

The League Against Cruel Sports is a charity which aims to rid society of cruelty to animals in the name of sport. They have been campaigning for this cause since 1924 and are currently working with Spanish animal welfare groups to promote an alternative to the bullfighting traditions for which the Spanish culture is infamous for.

As a creative media agency and interactive online publication with strong opinions Don’t Panic feel passionate about this project of bringing art and a social politic together.

Don’t Panic is a publication which has built a reputation for reaching their audience in their own environment - by placing Don’t Panic packs in carefully selected art spaces, record shops, music events, bars, universities and boutiques. They also offer designers an online forum to upload profiles, interact, and showcase their work and getting involved with publicly voted design competitions. Previous contributors have included Kate Moross, Shepard Fairey and Banksy.

The competition will run from May 19th - July 15th 2008 on the Don’t Panic site (dontpaniconline.com).

All entrants are encouraged to create a powerful design which stretches the creative parameters of the brief while keeping their individual style at the forefront, as we want a design that will be worn proudly to show support and not just another typical ‘t-shirt’ slogan design.

The top 20 voted designs accumulated from the Don’t Panic site will then be up for a grilling by the judging panel made up from the following: a League representative, a Don’t Panic representative, Chelsea College of Art & Design and some very special guests.

So if you think you have what it takes, visit Dontpaniconline.com to get the details on how to enter.
