Go undercover at Clothes Show London
The Clothes Show London will ooze glamour and cool and will be the place to see and be seen for anyone interested in fashion – the perfect venue for the Fashion and Textile Museum, whose stand will be one of the highlights at the show.Offering a unique taste of the FTM experience, it will showcase with a special preview of the forthcoming Undercover exhibition and offer the chance to be one of the first to buy tickets for this highly-anticipated exhibition.
You can learn more about the FTM’s programme of exciting fashion and design events, including talks and workshops, there will be a host of unique offers, a prize draw and opportunities to purchase exclusive fashion items.
For the first time, FTM will create a ‘pop up’ shop at the show where you can buy fantastic designer pieces from the young fashion and design talent stocked by the Shop@FTM, as well as a large selection of fashion related books and FTM merchandise.
The FTM stand will also provide an opportunity to catch an exclusive preview of the upcoming exhibition Undercover: The Evolution of Underwear, which opens on 12th June 2009. This exciting new exhibition traces the evolution of underwear, from health garment, shape definer to fashion ‘must have’.
It explores a number of themes such as boudoir to everyday glamour – ‘Stars and their bras’ looking at celebrity branding; how research and innovation has changed the way we wear our underwear; and how the changing face of underwear advertising and marketing meshes with social and cultural changes.
In addition, there will be the chance to enter a prize draw to win a free curator's tour of the new exhibition, along with a short break in an area selected by Vogue as one of London's coolest quarters. The lucky winner and a friend will enjoy a luxury night at the Bermondsey Square Hotel including dinner at Alfie's Kitchen, the newly opened boutique hotel's fantastic restaurant.
The Clothes Show London will be a mecca for every aspiring fashionista – so the FTM stand will be a significant high point for all the visitors.
The exhibition runs from Friday 12th June until Sunday 27th September 2009. Exhibition opening times are 11.00am-6.00pm Wednesday to Sunday. Last admission 5.15pm.
Ticket prices are £6.50 for adults, £3.50 for students and concessions, free entry for under 12s.
