Chemical-free skincare range reaps awards

Chemical-free skincare range reaps awards Beyond Organic’s Regenerating Night Cream, winner in “Best Facial Skincare Category” at this year’s Natural Health Magazine Beauty Awards in April, is just part of a new and completely chemical-free range of skincare that is reaping awards for founder Marianne Tregoning.

Marianne’s passion for purity is the driving force behind Beyond Organic Skincare
- beyondorganicskincare.co.uk, which she founded in March 2007 – even her office walls are painted in non-toxic colours. Her range’s distinctive turquoise-sea blue pots are packed with herb, plant and wildflower extracts, most of them harvested off Cornwall’s wild and beautiful shores near her workshop in Constantine. And there isn’t a single paraben or hard-to-spell chemical among them.

“We’re delighted to win the Natural Health Magazine award for the second time running,” says Marianne. “This time last year we were Top Finalists in the Natural and Organic Awards, sponsored by the Soil Association, with our Detoxifying Cleanser and Regenerating Night Cream. It’s fantastic to receive this sort of recognition because as any company committed to producing quality organic products, it’s not easy “being green” - a lot of hard work goes into creating skincare products that are so pure.”

Beyond Organic’s day and night moisturisers, their best-selling Rescue Cream for super sensitive skin, and Mother and Baby line include cocoa, mallow, cornflower, rosehip, honeysuckle flower buds, apricot and calendula which feature among a laundry list of natural ingredients that could tempt even a not-so-green goddess to ditch her big brand name skincare and go organic.

One of Beyond Organic’s groundbreaking ingredients, featured in the award-winning Regenerating Night Cream and Day Moisturiser, Rejuvenating Serum and Firming Eye Cream – all best-sellers - is sea buckthorn, which contains the rare omega 7 (as well as the other skin smoothers, omegas 3,6 and 9) that keeps skin plump. Recent research highlights its anti-aging, cell regeneration, UV protection and anti-oxidisation properties, and Mark Blumenthal of the American Botanical Council predicts, “If there ever was a herb that could qualify for the next generation of herbal luminaries, I would nominate sea buckthorn.”

Marianne believes we need to feed our skin as we do our bodies. “By hand blending herbs and flowers in-house, in synergy with each other, we have come up with a holistic formula that I believe goes “beyond” organic. You don’t need to add any “fluff” or chemicals, because, really, nature gives us everything we need to nurture ourselves.”
