Mondeo tops class of 2007 for used car deals

9th April 2008 Print
Ford Mondeo As last year’s new cars start to appear on used car forecourts, research by Carcraft has revealed that Ford Mondeos are topping the class of 2007 for bargain hunting motorists.

The Mondeo 1.8 LX has the highest depreciation rates with an average fall of 51% (£15,980 to £7,799) and it is closely followed by the Vectra 1.8 VVT SRI with a 50% fall (£17,210 to £8,499).

Carcraft also reports that this year could be a bumper one for used car buyers as economic pressures continue to squeeze new car sales, meaning that record numbers of nearly new cars are available at much reduced prices.

Barry Nightingale, managing director at Carcraft, commented: “Over recent months the volumes of three to six month old cars in stock have reached an all time high*, meaning that customers have more choice than ever before when it comes to finding quality used cars.

“As our research shows there are some excellent deals available at Carcraft as the cars from the class of 2007 graduate to the used car market. Buying a quality used car has never made more sense.”
