More innovation, more competitive cover

15th April 2008 Print
Motorists are being promised even more market leading and innovative cover for their cars in the event of mechanical failure after one of the world’s largest financial institutions took a majority stake in Warranty Direct.

Cardif Pinnacle, a trading style of Pinnacle Insurance plc and subsidiary of global banking house, BNP Paribas, will support Warranty Direct as it continues to lead with its groundbreaking Mechanical Breakdown Insurance and consumer campaigns.

Last autumn, Warranty Direct became the first company to protect motorists against faults discovered during routine MOT tests and servicing – something excluded by some other providers. Similarly, it also includes cover on Consequential Loss and was the first to remove policy clauses excluding wear and tear from cover. These remain key differentiators over other aftermarket warranty firms.

“Cardif Pinnacle will allow us to continue on the route we’ve always held, of offering the most innovative and the most competitive products for motorists,” said Warranty Direct managing director, Duncan McClure Fisher. “With our system and service capabilities, coupled with Cardif Pinnacle’s underwriting expertise, I’m confident that we can maintain our reputation for providing excellent protection.”

With potholed roads causing £320m worth of vehicle damage annually, Warranty Direct’s potholes.co.uk website is providing advice on how to claim compensation from local authorities, the unique reliabilityindex.co.uk identifies the most and least reliable cars on the road and labour-rates.co.uk highlights the variation in the mechanic labour charges across the UK.

With cover starting from as little as £15 a month, visit warrantydirect.co.uk.
