Essential advice for allergy sufferers

20th May 2008 Print
Approximately one in four of the UK population will suffer from an allergy at some point in their lives, according to the British Allergy Foundation and the number of people affected is increasing by five per cent each year.

To support the millions of Britons suffering from allergies, national Homeopathy Awareness Week 2008 will highlight how homeopathic remedies not only tackle the symptoms but, by helping the body’s system of healing, can help stop them occurring in the first place.

To mark the week, natural medicine specialist Nelsons has launched a new consumer web site healthroughhomeopathy.com and free health guide, Heal Through Homeopathy, which explains this natural system of healing and how it can be effectively used to treat common allergies in addition to every day ailments. Written in association with Registered Homeopath Laura Kenyon LCH, RSHom, the web site and guide provide jargon-free, practical information and advice ideal for everyone.

Laura said: “Despite a growing interest in healing in natural ways, there are still many myths and misunderstandings around homeopathy. The web site and guide will demystify this useful form of complementary medicine, answer commonly asked questions and provide invaluable homeopathic information about common allergies.”

Homeopathy has many high-profile supporters including Prince Charles, Victoria and David Beckham, Sir Paul McCartney, and Catherine Zeta-Jones – all of whom have raised awareness of its healing benefits by talking about their own experiences.

Homeopathic remedies are now widely available and can be found in many good pharmacies and health food stores, and with changes in licensing regulations meaning packaging will soon include information about the conditions the product treats, homeopathy will be easier for the consumer than ever before.
