Time to get cheeky at this year's "Pants in the Park"
Residents in Andover can show their cheeky side on Sunday 14 June 2009 by uniting in their pants for the annual "Pants in the Park" 5K fun run, in partnership with Simplyhealth, for Prostate UK.Charlton Athletics Track, will play host to local people coming together, dressed in ‘super hero' style with their decorated pants over their running kits, to help raise funds and generate awareness for Prostate UK, the only charity working to fight all prostate diseases.
Amanda McLean, Chief Executive, Prostate UK says; "1 in 2 men will suffer from prostate disease at some stage in their lives and this is one of the many ways we try and raise funds and awareness to help our fight against prostate diseases ruining lives."
Romana Abdin, spokesperson for Simplyhealth says: "Pants in the Park is a fantastic and fun way for people to come together to support Prostate UK. We are proud to be a part of this event and hope its decorated pant-clad supporters enjoy themselves as they walk or run to raise funds for this worthwhile cause."
Becoming a local "super hero" has never been so easy! Register online (pantsinthepark.org) and join us at Charlton Athletics Track from 11am on Sunday 14 June and be proud to line up in your pants! Alternatively come along on the day and pay just £5 entry fee. Men, women and children of all ages can take part and children under 10 accompanied by an adult can take part for free!
Families and friends of prostate disease sufferers, those fighting the disease, as well as those left behind by loved ones who lost their lives to prostate cancer will complete the distance in their pants. Together, we can really make a difference.
