Peak Performance help improve safety for Ferrero UK

World-renowned confectioners Ferrero, famous for iconic brands such as Ferrero Rocher, tic tac, Nutella and Kinder Surprise, has chosen driver risk assessment and training specialists Peak Performance of Chesterfield to help improve the safety of its employees when driving.

All 150 Ferrero employees in the UK, whether they drive for work or just privately, are able to take part in the company’s Effective Driving Programme. This is based on Peak Performance’s DriverMetrics systems centered on the unique and award-winning Fleet Driver Risk Index (FDRI).

FDRI is an on-line psychometric assessment system developed in collaboration with Cranfield University which identifies the level of risk in driving. Appropriate training interventions can be determined according to the results.

Alan Cathrine, HR Director at Ferrero UK, said: “We recently undertook a comprehensive tender process and evaluated a number of suppliers of driver risk assessment and training services, as part of our Effective Driving Programme. We were very impressed with Peak Performance and their DriverMetrics risk assessment system because it told us what we really need to know…namely the level and type of risk our drivers are exposed to and why”.

Employees take the Peak Performance FDRI assessment on-line from any web-enabled computer. These results combined with other risk assessments, place drivers in a low, medium or high risk category. Those in the low and medium categories take part in a half day group behavioural workshop entitled ‘Driving in Mind’. Those in high risk category are given personal coaching, which also includes on-road driver training.

Peak Performance offers a range of training courses which are tailored to the individual and delivers the training to all Ferrero employees wherever they are located in the UK.

Richard Hill, Director of Sales at Peak Performance, said that the introduction of FDRI and subsequent training have been well received at Ferrero. “Employees recognise this as a clear sign of the care that Ferrero has concerning their welfare, both in and out of work”.

Richard added “I’m very pleased that Peak Performance has been chosen to support the company’s Effective Driving Programme. We bring 20 years of experience and some unrivalled technology-based systems to helping reduce risks from driving along with the awful personal and financial consequences that can result from accidents”.
