Must See TV - 64th Golden Globe Awards

20th December 2006 Print
Image This star-studded awards ceremony has previously boasted all the key A-listers from Reese Witherspoon and George Clooney to Rachel Weisz and Heath Ledger and this year will be no exception. It is also one of the only award ceremonies to commend both Television and Motion Picture achievements and is often thought to be a strong ‘predictor’ for the Oscars.

This year’s nominations include a double chance for Leonardo DiCaprio in the Best Actor Category for his performances in ‘The Departed’ and ‘Blood Diamond’.

The British contingent has taken over the Best Actress category with Helen Mirren (The Queen), Kate Winslet (Little Children) and Judi Dench (Notes on a Scandal) all nominated for the award.

‘Borat’ is proving he has what it takes to make it in Hollywood after the film was nominated for both Best Musical or Comedy and Sacha Baron Cohen himself for Actor in a Musical or Comedy.

LIVINGtv’s very own ‘Greys Anatomy’ is also up for Best Television Series with lead actors Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo both nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Drama Television Series.

Tune in January to see all the glitz and glamour from the Globes, starting with an all access pass to the celebrities as they arrive on the red carpet in our ‘Golden Globes Red Carpet Special’, followed by the ceremony itself at 9.30pm shown exclusively on LIVINGtv2.
