BBC America Is Winner At Golden Globes

Bill Nighy won for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture made for Television, for his role as Gideon, a PR guru who’s at the top of his game at the time of Princess Diana’s death.
Emily Blunt won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture made for Television for her role as his daughter Natasha.
BBC America is a co-producer of Gideon's Daughter. It is a Talkback production for BBC and BBC America.
Bill Nighy says: “I'm delighted to win this award on behalf of everyone associated with Gideon's Daughter. I'm a tremendous admirer of Stephen Poliakoff who is both brilliant and inspirational. And I was honored to work with the very talented Emily Blunt, who also received an award tonight, and Miranda Richardson, one of the finest actresses the world has ever known.”

Written and directed by Stephen Poliakoff, Gideon’s Daughter, explores themes of love, loss, parenthood, and the cult of celebrity. It premiered on BBC America in March 2006. A companion piece to Friends & Crocodiles, Gideon’s Daughter completes Poliakoff’s unique perspective on the sweeping changes of the last two decades.
