Avril Lavigne To Release “Girlfriend”

Avril Lavigne is back with her brand new single “Girlfriend” - a blast of pure power pop perfection. A mix of bad girl chants, guitars cranked up to the max and full on modern attitude with a capital A, “Girlfriend” is the turbo-charged kick off single from Avril’s forthcoming album “The Best Damn Thing”.

Co-written by Avril and Dr Luke and produced by Dr Luke, “Girlfriend” is released on Monday April 2nd.

Avril has sold an incredible 24 million records globally - her debut album, Let Go, was released in 2002, and earned eight Grammy nominations, struck multi-platinum in 34 countries, took home four Juno Awards (including Album of the Year and New Artist of the Year) and spawned a string of anthemic youth-culture-defining hit singles: "Complicated," "Sk8ter Boi," "I'm With You."
