Nigel Harman Stars In Guys & Dolls

Nigel Harman will recreate the starring role of ‘Sky Masterson’ in Guys and Dolls which he played to great acclaim at the Alexandra Theatre Birmingham at Christmas and in London for three months at the beginning of last year. Nigel Harman has played many roles on the London stage, including ‘Kevin Cartwright’ in Michael Grandage’s production of “Privates on Parade” at the Donmar Warehouse. His West End musicals include “Mamma Mia!”, “Damn Yankees” and “Tommy”. He played ‘Dan Coulthard’ in “Red Cap” on television; however, it was his role as ‘Dennis Rickman’ in “EastEnders” that propelled him to national fame. He has recently appeared as ‘Mick’ in “The Caretaker” in Sheffield and on tour.
Guys and Dolls tells the story of a group of small time gamblers and the many ladies in their lives. Nathan Detroit bets his pal, Sky Masterson, that he can’t make the next lady he sees fall in love with him, and when the next ‘doll’ happens to be the prim and proper neighbourhood missionary Sarah Brown, the stage is set for an evening of high spirited entertainment, set to the toe-tapping beat of Loesser's superlative score.
Featuring a sensational cast and live orchestra, this electrifying production full of breathtaking dance routines, fabulous costumes, and bursting with classic hits such as Luck be a Lady, Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat, and of course, the wonderful title song Guys and Dolls, means it is a sure fire bet for a memorable show.
Guys and Dolls continues to play to sell-out business at the Piccadilly Theatre in London, where it opened on 1 June 2005 to rave reviews, and is now booking through this spring.
Michael Grandage’s production of Guys and Dolls, the first new production in London for 23 years, is based on the stories of Damon Runyon. With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls is designed by Christopher Oram, with choreography by Rob Ashford, musical supervision by Jae Alexander, lighting by Howard Harrison and sound by Terry Jardine and Chris Full.
Howard Panter for Ambassador Theatre Group and David Ian for Live Nation produce the Donmar Warehouse production of Guys and Dolls.
