Paris & Nicole’s Adventures – From The Beginning

In the sensational reality series The Simple Life, rich girls Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie traded in their lavish lifestyles in LA for a more down-to-earth existence in rural Arkansas - leaving behind their fabulous parties, wardrobes and trust funds to move in with a hardworking farming family.

Paris Hilton, heiress to the Hilton Hotel chain, and her best friend Nicole Richie, daughter of music star Lionel Richie, prepare to move from LA to a rural community where they’ll have to live very simply.

The girls spend their last few days of freedom on a shopping spree, spending thousands on trinkets they don’t need, like hats and heels. Before they leave, Paris’ parents host a lavish goodbye party for the girls who arrive in a helicopter.

The girls predict they’ll miss their mobile phones more than anything, but insist that they’ll prove the pessimists wrong by succeeding at living The Simple Life. In stilettos and mini skirts, the girls hand over their worldly possessions and bid farewell to LA.

When the girls arrive at their new home, they’re horrified to discover that they’ve well and truly left the glamour behind. Their new home only has one bathroom, no double glazing and a bedroom floor covered in bugs. Cultures clash as the glamorous girls try to adjust to rural realities and the family try to adjust to the girls!

Rich socialites Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton have never worked a day in their lives. Until now, the glamorous goodtime girls have relied on parental credit cards to sustain their lifestyles of shopping, partying…and more shopping. Now, the girls must hang up their Dior handbags to muck in on a farm in Arkansas for thirty days. Can the duo endure giant tics, chicken plucking, cows’ udders and cattle markets in order to live ‘the simple life’?

The girls are about to face a kind of reality they'd never previously experienced. Paris and Nicole are used to living the privileged life…but for now, it’s The Simple Life.
