6th April 2007 Print
Sara Cox Channel 4 has re-commissioned The Album Chart Show for a third series which will be presented by Sara Cox for 12 episodes plus a number of specials. The show, produced by 3DD Productions, will commence transmission in the summer of 2007 and continue to be filmed, close to transmission, in front of a live studio audience at legendary venue Koko in Camden, London.

The show will build on the strength of the last two series, containing a combination of live performances from both established and breaking acts from the UK music scene and abroad, interviews and a weekly rundown of the album chart. The run will include an end of series compilation and two specials which will give a particular artist or group a full show to showcase their music.

The first two series of The Album Chart Show featured a wide range of music from Lily Allen, Basement Jaxx, Pink, Girls Aloud and The Streets to Kaiser Chiefs, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Razorlight and Morrissey. There were also one off specials with Primal Scream, The Killers, Beck, The Charlatans and Jamiroquai. (See footnote for full line-ups).

Neil McCallum, Commissioning Editor of T4, Music and Youth says, “The Album Chart Show is now established as a key offering in C4’s music profile and it’s fantastic to be able to bring it back to our viewers for a third series. The show emphasises C4’s commitment to bringing quality music to our viewers, as well as showcasing the UK and international music scene, it is also a great platform for up and coming acts.”
