Xfm Announces Alex Zane As New Brekky DJ

After a lot of speculation Xfm can today reveal that Alex Zane will be the new presenter of the Xfm London Breakfast show - five days a week. Alex, who is also a presenter of Popworld on Channel 4, will step into his new role on Tuesday 29th May 2007.

The breakfast show will continue to prepare its listeners for the day ahead with the best new music, great guests and huge prizes – not forgetting Alex’s popular link with Roger Barton, the fishmonger from Billingsgate Market.

Alex first joined Xfm in 2003 when he hosted a weekend show. After a brief spell away from the nest he took over the Friday breakfast show in January of this year.

Xfm London’s Programme Director Adam Uytman said ‘We are really excited to be getting Alex five days a week. His Friday breakfast show has received a great response from the listeners and he was our first choice for the position.’

Alex Zane said "When my name came out of the tombola I was thrilled, and playing great music to London's best listeners 5 days a week in some way makes up for missing out on that first prize of an alarm clock kettle."

Ian Camfield is also moving from his mid morning show to take over the helm of the drivetime show with immediate effect and will continue to do ‘The Rock Show’ every Sunday evening from 10pm.

Alex Zane Breakfast Show: Monday to Friday 6am – 10am
Ian Camfield Drivetime Show: Monday to Friday 4pm – 7pm
And The Rock Show on Sundays from 10pm – 1am
