Summer Reunion For Blur

4th May 2007 Print
Graham Coxon is to rejoin Blur. The guitarist is set to go into the studio with his former bandmates this summer to start work on a new LP. However, Blur bassist Alex James says if the sessions don't work out the band will split for good.

He said: "We're all heading into the studio together this summer - Graham's coming too. We're going to see if we've still got it. If not, I think we'll just call it a day."

Coxon quit the band in 2002 during the recording of the band's seventh studio album 'Think Tank' in Marrakech, Morocco. The reasons for his departure were believed to be a combination of his unhappiness at frontman Damon Albarn's control over the group's musical direction and the decision to hire DJ Fatboy Slim as the record's producer.

Since quitting Blur, Coxon has released two solo albums, 'Happiness in Magazines' and 'Love Travels at Illegal Speeds'. Albarn has gone on to achieve global success with animated group Gorillaz, and formed new group The Good, The Bad and The Queen.
