Eve Charged With Drink Driving

Eve has been charged with driving under the influence. The rapper-and-actress was charged following her arrest last week for crashing her gold Maserati into Hollywood Boulevard's central reservation. The 28-year-old star has also been charged with registering a blood alcohol limit in excess of 0.08 percent, and failing to show proof of insurance.

Eve - full name Eve Jeffers - now faces probation of three to five years, a minimum fine of $390 and a compulsory alcohol treatment course. She is scheduled for arraignment on May 17.

Eve - who once had her own self-titled sitcom - narrowly escaped death when she crashed her car at around 2.45 am last Thursday. There were reportedly two passengers in the vehicle at the time.

Eve was arrested at the scene and taken to a Los Angeles County jail. She was later released after posting $30,000 bail. While in the county jail, Eve was visited by Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn, who was seen leaving the police station in a taxi at 4 am. It is not known if Penn had been out with Eve earlier that night.
