Phil Spector Is “Demonic”

Phil Spector turned "demonic" and tried to rape a female friend at gunpoint, a court has been told. Dianne Ogden - the second witness called by the prosecution in the music producer's trial for allegedly shooting dead Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion in 2003 - testified the defendant approached her with a rifle as she tried to leave a party at Spector's other California mansion in Pasadena in 1989.

She told a Los Angeles court on Monday: "He was screaming at me, the F word. He wasn't my Phil, not the man I loved. It wasn't him. He was demonic. It scared the hell out of me."

Ogden, a music talent coordinator, said Spector, now 67, then picked up a pistol which "he put all over me" while "yelling things".

She explained: "I said, 'Phillip, please let me go. Put the gun down.'

"I couldn't hear him anymore. It was like, 'What am I going to do? He's going to kill me.' "

Spector then allegedly ordered her up to his bedroom at gunpoint and tried to have sex with her. When asked by Deputy District Attorney Pat Dixon if Spector tried to be intimate with her, Ogden - who claimed she never had a sexual relationship with him - replied: "Yes he did. He did it by gunpoint. He wanted to rape me."

The following morning, Ogden said she found Spector singing in the shower "like nothing had happened".

During her testimony, Ogden told the jury - comprising of nine men and three women - she was only testifying because she had been subpoenaed.

The witness said she "forgave" Spector after the incident because she "cared for him".

However, she did eventually break contact with him when he threatened her again with a gun as she tried to leave another gathering at his house.

She said: "Phillip from behind me said, 'You're not going anywhere.' He said, 'I have an Uzi with me and I'm going to kill you.'

"I said, 'Phillip don't do this to me again. You've been drinking.' "

During cross-examination, defence attorney Bruce Cutler claimed Ogden had added information to her testimony that she hadn't previously told investigators. Spector's lawyers say they can scientifically prove Clarkson shot herself in the mouth on February 3 2003.
