Prince’s Purple Reign Over London

AEG Live promoter Rob Hallett said “Prince is one of the greatest live acts of all time so we anticipated a big reaction and we weren’t disappointed. The fact the ticket price is so reasonable and also included a copy of Prince’s new album made this an unmissable opportunity for music fans and is perhaps a message to the entire industry”.
The ticketing agency had laid on extra staff to cope with the deluge of applications and were handling sales as fast as they could possibly be processed. At one stage they were selling at the rate of 1,000 per minute. Demand was further accelerated by feedback from Prince’s secret club gig at Koko in Camden last night and once again it proved that when it comes to real superstars the rule book goes out of the window. Rob Hallett added that he had been saying for a long time that “live music is what the public want and when they get the opportunity to experience an artist the calibre of Prince they can’t get enough of it. This proves yet again that given the right artists the live music industry is booming”.
David Campbell, President and CEO of The O2 said it would have taken an extraordinary artist to beat Pink Floyd’s record of 14 nights in one arena, but Prince is such an artist.
Prince’s Purple Reign over London has well and truly commenced.
