Overpowered By Roisin Murphy

EMI Records has announced that the new album from Roisin Murphy will be released on October 15th. Entitled 'Overpowered' it's already creating a huge stir, not just in the UK but across Europe, America and Japan where early listens to the 6-track sampler have provoked a fevered response with many critics already hailing it as one of the albums of the year.

A modern disco classic, stuffed full of huge floor-filling pop songs, quirky lyrical genius and hooks galore, 'Overpowered' sees Roisin Murphy deliver the album of her career.

Already the Evening Standard is hailing it as "a full blown assault on Kylie's fanbase... Murphy's smoky voice drifting over pounding piano and swirling strings... new admirers look set to arrive in droves" and the Daily Star calling it "a glitter-drenched triumph... every single effort is a soul-stirring delight."

The first single, also entitled 'Overpowered' is out on July 9th. Already a massive club hit, it's rocketing up all the major dance charts, and getting great radio plays everywhere from major players such as Pete Tong and Annie Mac to mainstream support from the likes of Capital Radio. It becomes available for download from July 2nd.

Roisin's second single 'Let Me Know' will be released on October 1st with the album 'Overpowered' following two weeks later. Roisin is confirmed as one of the headline acts for Bestival - her first UK live appearance in years - and a full tour will be announced soon.
