Alex Curran launches new fragrance

26th October 2007 Print
The latest celebrity fragrance is set to hit the shelves today, exclusively at The Perfume Shop. Launched by the UK’s favourite celebrity title OK! Magazine, the fragrance, called ‘Alex’, is an exotic blend of florals and musks that have been personally chosen by the face of the fragrance, Alex Curran.

Wife of England footballer Steven Gerrard, mother of two young girls and a celebrity in her own right, Alex Curran has been working closely with OK! Magazine to develop a fragrance that she feels not only represents her life in a bottle, but will also appeal to the many legions of OK! Magazine fans out there.

The fragrance has fresh citrus top notes of bergamot and lemon, which really appeal to Alex as they are such clean scents – both she and Steven are obsessed with keeping their house clean!

A floral heart of rose and jasmine add a very feminine touch to the perfume and the fragrance then develops with base notes of creamy vanilla, tonka bean and powdered musk which add warmth. Alex loves vanilla and is always burning vanilla scented candles at home, she also loves the creamy smell as it reminds her of her little girls who love vanilla milkshakes and ice-cream. The tonka bean scent reminds Alex of almonds and cinnamon, fragrances which fill her home at Christmas, her favourite time of year.

This mix is set to appeal to young women who will love the fun, easy-to-wear floral scent. The EDT 100ml will sell at £19.95 and will be a great addition to any dressing table with its striking pink and black flocked packaging and contemporary crystal bottle.

Commenting on this new fragrance, Julia Bolsom, Head of Marketing at The Perfume Shop says: “This is a really special fragrance that gets to the heart of what celebrity scent is all about – it certainly is a little bit of Alex in a bottle!”

Alex Curran adds: “I’m really proud of my perfume and think all the ingredients together make a lovely combination. I wanted a perfume that you can put on in the morning and still smell by the end of the day, and I think the mix of the crisp citrus and the long-lasting musks does just that. I love the packaging of the fragrance – the pink is really feminine and the black adds a glamorous, dramatic look. Steven loves the perfume and is really proud of me – I think he’s gutted that I beat him to it – he quite fancied having his own aftershave range! ”
