Kelly Osbourne nominated as Sony DAB Rising Star

Sony has announced the launch of the Sony DAB ‘Rising Star’ Award at the nominations for the 26th annual Sony Radio Academy Awards, the UK’s top radio honours. The winner, voted for by the public, will be announced at the radio industry’s gala night, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday 12 May.

The Sony DAB ‘Rising Star’ Award, seeks to recognise the radio stars of tomorrow by opening up the voting to the public with the only official ‘people’s choice’ award. The shortlist of emerging radio talent, all of which have been broadcasting for no more than 18 months include, Kelly Osbourne at BBC Radio 1, Amy Jones at Kerrang! Radio, George Lamb at BBC 6 Music, Hywel Evans & Jamie Experience at Rock FM, and The Rob Ellis Show Team at Galaxy Manchester.

Members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite presenter at Sony.co.uk/risingstar.

The shortlist has been chosen from a host of submissions each considered by an independent panel of UK Radio broadcasting experts including Magic’s Neil Fox, Heart FM’s Emma B.and music legend Feargal Sharkey.
