Celebs nail it at London Fashion Week

Celebs nail it at London Fashion Week Leading Edinburgh nail technician Claire McAndrew added a touch of Scottish talent to London Fashion Week as she tended to the nails of the new ‘it’ models, socialites and street models at fashion editor turned designer Luella Bartley’s A/W Ready to Wear show.

Claire worked alongside session nail technician and twice winner of British Nail Professional of the Year Andrea Fulerton for Revlon. Andrea’s client list reads like a who’s who of celebrities including Nigella Lawson, Penelope Cruz. Lily Allen and Britney Spears to name a few.

The nail team prepped, buffed and filed 30 models for the show and front row guests included Peaches and Sir Bob Geldof, Kanye West and Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts.
Claire, who owns Inner Sanctuary Beauty within Medusa Hairdressing on Bread Street, was once named Edinburgh’s Best Manicurist by beauty and style bible Harpers & Queen.

The talented technician, who was also specially requested to do pop star Pink’s nails on a visit to the capital for the MTV Awards, said: “Working the Luella show was a fantastic experience, the buzz backstage was unreal.”

There was a prim punk feel in the air with metallic leather, tweed and cashmere mixed together in a typical Luella fashion. A mesh of girly punks mixed with rich kids, the collection was a cocktail of brocade, metallic and muted shades.

High profile models included a spiky haired Pixie Geldof, who wore a black and gold brocade mini dress, and 19 year old Portia Freeman in a textured red patent mac.

Insider tip: Andrea’s hot shade of the moment is Revlon Valentine Red.
