Arctic Cat sets up UK subsidiary for Quads & ATVs
Arctic Cat, the premium Quad and ATV brand, has established a new wholly owned subsidiary, Arctic Cat UK Limited, through which it will enter the UK and Ireland markets on a dealer direct basis. The company will broaden and develop Arctic Cat’s presence in what is a fast growing and competitive sector, where it is served currently only by Massey Ferguson, which markets some Arctic Cat machines already under its own brand. The company, which will be based in South Essex, will commence trading immediately and is already talking to key potential dealerships and other organisations. Heading up the new operation is Darren Harvey, formerly business development manager for military and special vehicles at Roush.
Arctic Cat is primarily recognised as one of the world’s leading premium-end Quad and ATV manufacturers. It also builds a highly successful range of snowmobiles and compact portable generator sets. Its established EU headquarters, ACE, is in Austria, where European models, including the fully homologated road legal variants, are assembled.
“The new 2006 range of Arctic Cat Quads and ATVs includes models from 250cc to 650cc and offers the best yet in terms of performance, variety, options – and opportunities for new dealerships. The product is already mature, proven and increasingly successful in other world markets – which provides the ideal platform, timing and opportunity to escalate our activities in the UK and Ireland”, says Darren Harvey.
