James Harries; Confirms First Ever UK Shows

16th January 2007 Print
James Harries James Harries, the UK/Prague-based phenomenon who's already racked up a string of multi-Platinum albums and consistently sells out arenas across central Europe, has lined up a string of debut UK shows in the New Year.

The singer, a resident in Prague for 10 years since he stopped off there whilst busking and was quickly signed to a local record label, has already attracted favourable comparisons here to artists as varied as Neil Young, Tom Waits and latterly Damien Rice.

"The missing link between Jeff Buckley and Oasis". (Rolling Stone 2006)
"See him before the rush...he can hold any crowd's rapt attention - anytime, anywhere, in any genre" (Sunday Express, January 7th 2007).
"An eclectic, genre-defying singer-songwriter" (Rock + Pop Germany)
"THE golden voice". (Six Magazine, Germany)

These initial 3 London shows - with more to be confirmed shortly - will tee up a debut UK Dekkor Records album release of "Days Like These" in the Spring.

The dates in January are as follows;

JANUARY
22 – London Pizza Express, Dean Street
23 – London Metro
24 – London 12 Bar Club

Harries, who grew up in Manchester but left home to travel around Europe at the age of 17, sells out 2000 capacity venues from Vienna to Moravia, from Katowice to Warsaw, but has thus far remained unknown in the UK.

These first shows will see Harries perform solo acoustic, but full band shows will follow later in the year.
