Windsor Festival Spring Weekend

21st January 2007 Print
Windsor The third Windsor Festival Spring Weekend, Thursday 19 and Sunday 22 April, will highlight young performers and literary artists. Coinciding with The Queen’s birthday (21 April), it will also add to the focus on the town during Her Majesty’s special weekend.

Sponsored by Honda, the programme will cover the performing arts with concerts by international and local performers, while the highly popular literary series will continue with presentations and book signings from well known authors and figures from stage and screen. Events will take place at heritage venues in and around Windsor including the Guildhall and Windsor Parish Church.

This will be followed by the main festival, Tuesday 18 to Sunday 30 September, which will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great British composer Sir Edward Elgar. It will also include events staged within Windsor Castle offering a rare opportunity to attend a prime concert in the beautiful and historic surroundings of the Waterloo Chamber or St George’s Chapel.
