Aerosmith To Headline London’s Hottest Event

20th February 2007 Print
Legendary US rockers Aerosmith are the first headliners to be announced for the 2007 Hyde Park Calling concerts in Hyde Park June 23rd and 24th, which are presented by Hard Rock Cafe.

Aerosmith will be performing Sunday June 24th, their first UK concert in 8 years since having been one of the final bands to play Wembley Stadium in Summer 1999.

The headliner for Saturday 23rd and the full supporting bills for both days will be announced in the coming weeks.

Hyde Park Calling, produced by Live Nation and presented by the Hard Rock Cafe, will be a unique and historic musical event with a main stage, second stage and many surprises in store for music and festival fans of all ages.

Upon their return to the UK after such a long absence Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler had the following to say “I always look forward to touring across the pond because life's a pisser when European".

Guitarist and fellow ‘Toxic Twin’ Joe Perry was equally effusive saying “It’s been way too long since we’ve played the UK and Europe. Some of the most unforgettable gigs in my life have been played to incredible European fans. You know, 8 years is a long time in the world of rock and roll. In some ways, these gigs will feel like the 1st time. So, let’s get together and see if it was as good for you as it was for us.”

Tickets for Sunday 24th June £45.

Tickets are expected to sell out very quickly but music fans can purchase tickets through Nokia ticketrush.co.uk. Ticketrush.co.uk is a free service that gives registered users the chance to buy tickets before the general public, as well as being kept up to date by text message of any last minute tickets for sold out gigs.

Live Nation’s Managing Director Stuart Galbraith said: “For the second year of Hyde Park Calling we’ve had to up the ante after last year’s spectacular shows from The Who and Roger Waters. To bring back Aerosmith after all this time is a spectacular way to kick the shows off. We’ll be having some fantastic further announcements to make over the coming weeks, so watch this space.”

Hard Rock Cafe’s Vice President of Operations for Europe, Calum Macpherson, says: “Hard Rock International is delighted to be involved in such an iconic event. It is fantastic that Hard Rock is getting back to its musical roots with such great rock artists and in such a renowned music venue.”
