“I couldn’t believe it when I got the call from the BBC Concert Orchestra, not all of them of course, not in my wildest dreams did I think I would be working with a proper concert orchestra.” says Rowley.
“Its like the peak of the powers of Guilty Pleasures, it’s the ultimate guilty pleasures experience. So I was quickly on the phone to friends and family of guilty pleasures asking them if they wanted to perform their own guilty pleasure with the orchestra and that’s how this great line up has come about. A lot of great opportunities have come my way since doing Guilty Pleasures, but this just takes the biscuit, this is truly amazing. A dream come true.”
It was inevitable that this would happen as the popularity of the Guilty Pleasures brand grows to immense proportions, and now the time has come when Guilty Pleasures comes alive with the BBC Concert Orchestra hosted by Sean Rowley at the Hackney Empire on Tuesday 20th March.
Fresh from playing at the BBC Proms and BBC Electric Proms, and recording soundtracks for the World Cup and Planet Earth, the busiest and most versatile Orchestra in the world turns its hand to the likes of Bonnie Tyler, Neil Diamond, ELO and Chicago. They will be joined on stage by a stellar line-up of talent including none other than Chas ‘n’ Dave, Cerys Matthews and Les McKeown. Artists will perform their chosen Guilty Pleasures record with the expert backing of the 40-piece BBC Concert Orchestra plus backing band, the Whore Dogs, adding a truly indulgent edge to the pleasure.
