26th March 2007 Print
Naked Man Recordings, a fledgling London based label which will specialise in introducing some of today's finest Spanish independent music to the UK, is organising the Far More Than Just a Sun Tan Festival at London's 93Ft East on Sunday 22 April 2007.

A FREE event, lasting the whole day, there will be 6 live bands, free traditional Spanish food (tapas etc) and free beer until it runs out! A photography exhibition courtesy of Anguila Collective (colectivoanguila.com), who will be taking photos throughout the day and exhibiting them for anyone who fancies getting dressed up for the occasion.

The music will begin early in the afternoon with the pop sweethearts La Costa Brava. Kings of space rock, Aeropuerto will follow (“Anestesia”, their debut single will be released soon on Naked Man Recordings).

Biggot, a singer-songwriter a la Will Oldham, will take over with his alternative country/folk repertoire, and will be followed by the majestic pop of Tachenko (their EP “El Problema” is also out on Naked Man Recordings soon). They will break hearts and give more than one attendee a reason to learn Spanish.

Big City will follow with their American-styled psychedelic pop as the evening moves on. They are guaranteed to make most of you wonder “how come I have never listened to this before???” Finally, Mendetz will close the festival with their killer Casio-Punk dance floor tunes. Jeff Automatic (Club NME) has already been giving their “Future Sex” single a few spins at his club and guess what…people couldn’t stop dancing!

In addition, and throughout the day, there will be DJs next door in the Pink Room, including Domino Records DJs, King of Patio DJs (Spain), Sinnamon Records DJs (Spain), Naked Man DJ and the beautiful My ExBoyfriend Records ladies to get you all in the mood.
