An Evening With Rufus Wainwright

After two triumphant London Palladium dates last month, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright has announced four new UK shows for May. Showcasing his eagerly awaited new album ‘Release The Stars’, Rufus will perform dates in Portsmouth, Bristol and London, backed by an 8-piece band, including a horn section.

Rufus’ 8-piece band are: Jeff Hill (bass), Gerry Leonard (Guitar), Matt Johnson (Drums), Jack Petruzzelli (Guitar, Piano, Keyboards), Will Vinson (Sax), Louis Schwadron (French Horn) and CJ Camerieri (Trumpet).

The 4 new shows follow the release of ‘Release The Stars’, May 14th, and the politically punchy first single ‘Going To A Town’, April 30th (i-Tunes package, May 7th). A 12-track masterclass in songwriting and production, it’s undoubtedly one of the albums of 2007. Written and produced by Rufus, Neil Tennant is the executive producer while long-time collaborators Marius de Vries and Andy Bradfield sprinkled magic dust over the tracks in the mix.

Rufus will also perform at America’s Coachella Festival, April 27th.
