Idlewild - The Coolest Pub In the UK

Idlewild, the latest venue by the Ruby Group, has created a whole new category for those looking for a night (or day) out. Best described as a pub restaurant deluxe, it features a classic british menu and bar quality cocktails in a venue which is quite stunningly unique.

Downstairs in the restaurant, an air of sophistication and sense of establishment is given with the use of hand crafted chandeliers (think Hotel Costes) and a 26ft long solid pewter bar.

A courtyard garden sits snugly behind on a lower floor and will be a perfect hideaway on hot summer days.

And then to top it off – literally – on the first floor, is a grand apartment style cocktail lounge. Petrol blue in colour with huge Vistosi Murano glass chandeliers of the like never seen in a bar before, casting an almost sunset like light throughout. Framed creepy crawlies and butterflies line the stairs on the walk up to this drop dead gorgeous bar. It is a confidant and inspiring room to spend time in.

The classic English menu is served by Head Chef Nick Pound (ex Chez Kristoff and Baltic) and will be washed down with over 50 wines from a huge range of grape varieties.

Idlewild is open now day and night (from noon to midnight) throughout the week.
